I opted to upgrade the processors to dual 3.46 six-core processors, run a MacVidCard flashed Nvidia GTX 780 6 GB graphics card, bump up from 24 GB RAM to 32 GB RAM, and go from OS X Lion to Mavericks. The final internal upgrade was to install a Crucial 1 TB SATA SSD for my primary OS system, applications and storage and a second Crucial 500 GB SATA SSD for current video projects and media.
